A documentary-fiction hybrid following a Moroccan photographer whose life work has never been seen. Shot in Marrakech over 11 days.
The Challenge
The protagonist, 84-year-old Hassan Benhaddou, had never been in front of a camera. He was also nearly blind.
The Approach
We inverted the documentary form — Hassan became our director of photography in spirit, describing light to us. We interpreted his descriptions.
